3/28 Scrimmage vs U12 South Boys

Only 9 players from our team today . . . I debated about whether or not to go ahead with the scrimmage but in the end I decided to call in a handful of the girls from the White team and Sophie from the 12's.  It is better to get the 9 players who can play some playing time instead of canceling.  Plus it would be nice to see some of the girls from the White team mix in with us.

It's amazing that 45 and Sunny feels great in Minnesota when you are outside in March.  I had training with our 12 Whites earlier today here and I had to stop back home after that training to loose some layers because it was way to hot outside.

In stark contrast to our scrimmage last weekend the boys killed us today.  They moved the ball incredibly well and scored some sweet goals.   The 9 girls that were at the scrimmage got a lot of really good conditioning work in.

The only possible silver lining that I could find was that maybe we were really coming together with our defensive work because with all the new players playing with us today we were not able to put our high pressure defense on the boys.  This is to no fault of the girls who helped us out today because they play a completely different style than us and we have been working on this for the past 3 months.  On offense all of our guest players did some very nice things and I liked how we played.  But going back through the game and thinking about why the boys were able to pass around us so much easier today I believe it was because we were not pressing together as we usually do.

Either way the boys were fantastic today and I'm glad we went ahead with the scrimmage.
