League Game #2 vs Eau Claire

Tired, hurt, emotionally drained and missing a couple of players one day after the girls captured their first State Cup Championship, this was always going to be a tough game for the girls. 

There is not a lot to say about the game.  Eau Claire is going to be one of the top teams in the East District again this year.  Eau Claire came out excited for the game and they were a very big and physical team who played the ball long into our end and put us under a lot of pressure.

At half time the score was 0-0 and the girls started to pick up their play in the second half and started to create some chances.  But in the 43rd minute Eau Claire got a goal off a corner kick.  We had a couple of chances but we were unable to convert anything.

Today was good for the girls to see how excited teams are going to be to play them now and how much it means for other teams to beat them.  After the game our girls wondered why the Eau Claire girls were celebrating so much about a league game, but that is how it is going to be the rest of the year.  The girls know that now and know they have to come ready to play from the opening kick off of each game.
