12-4 Ball Striking- First Blizzard Of The Year

The first heavy snowfall of the year came today just in time for Minnesota drivers to forget how to drive in the snow.
It took some people hours to get to somewhere that would usually take 15-30 minutes and others decided not to risk it. Surprisingly we still had a decent amount of girls there tonight. We had about 18 of our U11's and U12's so I trained them all together.
The Ball Striking for today was meant to be pretty simple. Dribble, pass, touch, and shoot.
-First orange player dribbles a couple of touches and passes to her teammate who has made a diagonal run from the far side of the field.
-Receive the ball using one touch with the inside of your right foot and shoot on your second touch with your left foot.
-As the orange is shooting the green side starts and does the same thing.
The most difficult thing about this exercise is the pass. We have some very talented players, but if we ask them to pass it in stride to a teammate who is running it is very difficult. It is difficult for any age to hit someone in stride with a pass so we will spend a lot of time working on this.
After a while we switched sides of the field and had the players receive the ball with their left foot and shoot with their right foot.
Make It Competitive:
-Play for 2 minutes
-Shot on goal is 1pt
-Goal is worth 3pts
