Costume game

Fun day today.  The girls all came dressed up in their Halloween costumes and we scrimmaged and played world cup.

Along with the fun that was had, coming dressed in costumes showed confidence and a willingness to take a chance.  This was because until each girl arrived at training, they were unsure if anyone else would actually wear their costume.  I'm sure many of them asked themselves, what if I'm the only one wearing a costume?  But when they arrived at the field, each of the girls were delighted to see their teammates dressed up like they were.

Let The Training Begin

After two weeks off we got the girls back together again last Saturday for an optional session.  We will be having our final two outdoor training sessions of the year tonight and on Saturday.  Sunday is the beginning of the indoor season for us.  For U13 and below the indoor season means the training season as there are typically no "meaningful" games until we go back outside.  Our next actual tournament isn't until March when we go to the Las Vegas College Showcase.

The best part about the Training Season is that you can really develop consistent training themes for a 4+ month period and not have knee jerk reactions to what happens in games and change those themes with "band aid" training sessions.

We do have scrimmages lined up through the winter so we can measure ourselves against outside competition. (Our first scrimmage is next Friday against the U14 Blues so that will be a fun one.)

Our training schedule will consist of:
Saturday- Team/Age Group Training
Sunday- Futsol
Monday- Team Training/FIT Training/Video
Thursday-Optional Footskills Session
